Cela faisait longtemps que je n’avais vu autant de monde pour un concert !!! L’Elysée Montmartre était plein en ce 05 janvier 2008 pour ces trois groupes, avec une deuxième date le lendemain.

It was such a long times I’ve seen so many people for a gig!!! The Elysée Montmartre was full on this January 05^th, 2008 for those three groups, with a second date the day after.

Axxis débute les hostilités. Le groupe allemand, avec son hard rock classique, n’a pas le mérite ni la reconnaissance qu’il devrait avoir après presque 20 ans de carrière… c’est bien dommage car avec un tel frontman qui assure parfaitement son set sur scène, le groupe devrait avec plus de succès. Mais en tout cas ce soir, les fans du groupe étaient présents et bien présents dans la salle, notamment aux premiers rangs, entonnant avec un Bernhard très en forme, chacune des chansons. Parmi celles-ci « Doom Of Destiny », du dernier album mais également entre autres « Tales Of Glory Island », « Living In A World » ou « Kingdom Of the Night ». La chanteuse n’est pas Lakonia, comme dans les albums mais Ana Mladinovici, la vocaliste de Magica, qui même si son chant est parfait, les chansons n’ont pas le même impact qu’avec l’autre chanteuse. Le groupe nous a fait néanmoins une excellent prestation scénique.

Axxis begins the hostilities. The german group, with its classic hard rock, does not have the credit neither the recognition that it should deserve after nearly 20 years of career… and it is truly bad, because with such a frontman who ensures perfectly his set on stage, the group should have more success. But at least tonight, the fans of the group were present and well present in the room, especially on the first ranks, singing along with a Bernhard very at form, each of the songs. Among them, « Doom Of Destiny », from the last album but also among others « Tales Of Glory Island », « Living In A World » or « Kingdom Of the Night ». the female vocalist is not Lakonia, like in the albums but  Ana Mladinovici, Magica’s vocalist, who even if her vocals are perfect, the songs do not have the same impact that with the other female vocalist. The group still has given us an excellent stage performance.

Puis c’est Gamma Ray qui entre sur scène avec un Kaï Hansen plus qu’acclamé. Se succède les uns après les autres les succès du groupe avec « Empress » faisant parti du dernier album « Land Of The Free II » mais également, entre autres,  « Heaven Can Wait », « Fight », « Valley Of The Kings », « Heavy Metal Universe », « Ride The Sky » et un rappel « Send Me a Sign ». Il est clair que le groupe est ravi d’être sur scène, ici à l’Elysée Montmartre, avec nous… et le public également !!!

Then it is Gamma Ray which enters on stage with a more than claimed Kaï Hansen. Succeed one after another the successes of the group with  « Empress » coming from their last album « Land Of The Free II » but also among others,  « Heaven Can Wait », « Fight », « Valley Of The Kings », « Heavy Metal Universe », « Ride The Sky » and a encore « Send Me a Sign ». it is clear that the group is please to be here with us on stage at the Elysée Montmartre… As well as the public!!!

Vient ensuite le très attendu Helloween avec son frontman Andi Deris. Très acclamés et très applaudis, les musiciens arrivent les uns après les autres. Comme pour les deux précédents groupes, Helloween est ravi d’être sur scène à Paris. Andi est un sacré frontman qui n’hésite pas à discuter avec son public, parlant même en français avec par exemple un « ferme ta gueule »… en « Intro » nous avons le droit à « Crack The Riddle » nous venant droit du dernier album « Gambling With The Devil », mais également à « Halloween », « As Long As I Fall », « King For A 1000 Years », « The Bells Of The Seven Hells » et à un « Smoke On The Water », mémorable avec le groupe devenu des nains… et un solo batterie… puis en premier rappel un medley et en second rappel, un final avec  Helloween et Gamma Ray, ensemble sur scène, avec « Future World » et « I Want out ». Bref une excellente prestation d’Helloween mais également des deux autres groupes.

Je pense que le public tout entier a passé un très bon moment en compagnie de ces trois groupes.

Then came the much awaited Helloween with its frontman Andi Deris. Much cheered and much applauded, the musicians are coming one after another on stage. As for the previous groups, Helloween is please to be on stage in Paris. Andi is a damned frontman who does not hesitate to discuss with his public, even talking in French with a, for example « ferme ta gueule »… as an « Intro » we’ll have  « Crack The Riddle » coming directly from the last album « Gambling With The Devil », but also to « Halloween », « As Long As I Fall », « King For A 1000 Years », « The Bells Of The Seven Hells » and a « Smoke On The Water », memorable with the group as dwarfs … and a drums solo… then as a first encore a medley then for the second encore , a final with Helloween et Gamma Ray, together on stage, with « Future World » and « I Want out ». To be short an excellent performance of Helloween but also of the two other groups.

I think that the whole crowd has had a good moment with these three groups.

Ce PARIS METAL FRANCE FESTIVAL 2 était sans aucun doute un des rendez-vous les plus importants de ce début d’année pour tout amateur de Hard-Rock/Heavy-Metal. Cette deuxième édition rassemblait pour ce jour RBO, DEMON EYES, WITCHES, STILL SQUARE, NO RETURN, KILLERS, BLASPHEME et ADX. Très bonne ambiance générale et une Locomotive pleine à craquer !

RBO ont ouvert le bal… son nickel, musiciens bien en place… chanteur charismatique à la voix rauque et puissante… et le tout donne dans un style stoner/hard-rock pouvant rappeler parfois les KYUSS, MONSTER MAGNET, BLS… très bonne prestation, un groupe qui va refaire parler de lui, c’est sûr… et un festival qui débutait TRES bien !

DEMON EYES… le retour d’un des piliers du Hard-Rock français 80 ! Je dois avouer que j’ai été quelque peu surpris de les voir passer aussi tôt dans la programmation, au vu de leur réputation… mais qu’importe, ils nous ont délivré un set carré et puissant, bien qu’un peu court à mon goût… 8 titres seulement dont  « Seek & Destroy » en hommage à Cliff BURTON, «Pestiférés », «Indifférence », «Les Deux Maudites» et (encore) une reprise de JUDAS PRIEST, « Breaking The Law » sur laquelle Renaud HANTSON (FURIOUS ZOO, ex-SATAN JOKERS) viendra jammer pour clore la bonne prestation du groupe !

WITCHES… c’était pour ce groupe aussi un retour après une longue période d’absence… retour qui coïncide aussi avec la sortie de leur nouvel album «7»… Musicalement, thrash au programme qui allait en décoiffer plus d’un ! Les nouveaux titres présentent un WITCHES plus expérimental mais toujours aussi puissant…  un set sans faille avec des musiciens très concentrés sur leurs instruments… cela présage de bons moments à venir pour le groupe !

STILL SQUARE… reformé pour l’occasion de ce festival… je ne m’attendais pas à tant de leur part ! Dire que ce groupe n’avait à l’époque réalisé qu’un seul album…. Pff, quel gâchis ! Un set bourré d’énergie et de bonne humeur, des musiciens irréprochables et un chanteur qui a mené le public de main de maître ! Le set se termine sur l’incroyable «Rock Stars» avec son break mélodique à la Maiden… dans une ambiance de folie !!! J’espère qu’après le show, les gars se sont remis en question et ne vont pas s’arrêter en si bon chemin !

NO RETURN… malgré un set puissant et une interprétation sans faille, a été victime de son style, peut-être trop moderne et brutal, car une bonne partie du public, plus axée sur les 80’s, en a profité pour aller prendre l’air… Néanmoins, le groupe a délivré un Death Thrash puissant et brutal comme à son habitude et n’a pas démérité… les fans présents ont appréciés !

KILLERS… le groupe porte bien son nom… sur scène, pas de pitié ! Un set pas mal orienté sur les vieilles compositions comme « Fils De La Haine », « L’Assassin », « Rosalind »… qui aura retourné les tripes de plus d’un vieux Hardrocker !! Une énergie pure et brute, des musiciens généreux et reconnaissants… une ambiance de folie pour ce groupe qui 25 ans après sa formation est toujours debout et au TOP ! KILLERS n’a pas failli à sa réputation de groupe de scène… pour moi la meilleure prestation de la soirée !

BLASPHEME…. aura aussi été une des meilleures surprises de la soirée… l’accueil qui leur a été réservé était formidable… et malgré les années d’inactivité, le groupe a su reproduire les titres avec le même feeling… et mention spéciale pour le chanteur Marc qui n’a rien perdu de sa voix, comme pouvaient en témoigner les titres « Seul », « territoire des hommes » et « vive libre »… une bien belle prestation qui donne envie de les revoir au plus vite !

Et pour finir… ADX que tout le monde semblait attendre de pied ferme, vu l’affluence au moment de leur entrée sur scène… Le groupe commence son set par un nouveau titre issu de son nouvel album « Division Blindée » que personne ne connaît encore… pas évident pour se mettre dans le bain… heureusement il enchaînera majoritairement avec ses classiques, ce qui a survolté l’ambiance. Compositions interprétés de façon impeccable mais j’avoue que je m’attendais à un peu mieux de leur prestation, que j’ai trouvé trop «je me la joue cool »… peut-être qu’à force de les avoir vu plusieurs fois l’année dernière, je deviens exigeant, qui sait ? Toujours est-il que ce concert s’est fait comme à l’habitude d’ADX dans la joie et la bonne humeur, et que pour terminer ce festival, c’était plutôt bienvenu, tout comme le champagne offert aux premiers rangs en fin de show… comme pour mieux célébrer l’événement Paris Metal France Festival.

This second edition of the Paris Metal France Festival was undoubtly one of the most important dates not to miss for every metalheads. This time it gathered RBO, DEMON EYES, WITCHES, STILL SQUARE, NO RETURN, KILLERS, BLASPHEME and ADX… The place was over-crowded !

RBO started the festival … Great sound, well-trained musicians… with a very attractive singer with a deep & powerful voice… musically, something in between Hard-Rock & Stoner Rock making me think of bands like KYUSS, MONSTER MAGNET & BLS… very good performance from a band that should make speak of itself soon… the festival started well !

DEMON EYES.. The return of one of the 80’s french Heavy-Metal pillars… I have to admit that I’ve been somehow surprised to see them play so early, considering the band’s reputation… but nevermind, the band delivered a powerful set, but a bit too short in my opinion. Only 8 songs ! Among them, “Seek & Destroy” as a tribute to Cliff Burton, “Pestiférés”, “Indifférece”, “Les Deux Maudites” and (again) another cover… of JUDAS PRIEST… “Breaking The Law” on which ex-SATAN JOKERS & FURIOUS ZOO Renaud HaNTSON came to jam to end the group’s good performance !!

WITCHES… it was also a coming back for this group after a long period of absence, coming back combined with the release of their new album called « 7 ». Musically, straight ahead thrash metal that blew more than one metalhead away. The new songs show us a more experimental band, but still as powerful ! A well-done set with musicians much concentrated on their instruments, this lets presage good moments to come for the band !

STILL SQUARE… reformed  especially for this festival…. I was really not expecting so much from them ! To say that they only released one album in the 80’s… what a mess ! A full of energy & good temper set,  irreproachable musicians with a singer that led the audience in a master’s hand ! The set endswith the incredible “Rock Stars” with its melodic break in the early Maiden manner, in a crazy ambiance ! I hope that after the show, the guys will have questioned themselves and won’t stop in that good way.

NO RETURN… in spite of a powerful set and a killer performance, has been victim of its style, maybe too much brutal & modern, because a good part of the crowd, more into the 80’s style, left the pit to have a break. Nevertheles, the band has delivered a powerful & brutal Death Thrash metal as usual and was not at fault …. The band fans have really appreciated !

KILLERS… is a well-named band… on stage… no mercy ! A set mainly oriented on the old songs like « Fils De La Haine », « L’Assassin », « Rosalind »… which will have pleased more than one old Hardrockers !! A pure & raw energy, generous & grateful musicians… a crazy ambience for  this 25 years old band , that still stands proud and at the TOP !! KILLERS has not failed to its reputation of a live-band… To me, the best performance of the evening !

BLASPHEME has also been one of the best surprises of the evening. The welcome was amazing, and in spite of the years of inactivity, the band has delivered their songs with the same old feeling… A special mention to the vocalist Marc who has not lost any of his voice as for proves the songs « Seul », « territoire des hommes » and « vive libre »… A truly good performance which give the envy to see them again as soon as possible !

And to finish.. ADX that everyone seemed to be waiting for, considering the present crowd when they enter the stage. The band began its set with a brand new title from its new album “Division Blindée” that no one already knew… Not easy to be at ease… Fortunately the band continued mainly with its classics, which have highly charged the ambience… Well-played songs but I have to admit that I was expecting a bit more from their performance that I have found too much easy-playing… Maybe after having seeing them several times last year, I am becoming more demanding… As usual, this show has been made in joy and good humour, and that to end this festival it was rather welcome, as the Champagne offered to the first ranks at the end of the show… as to better celebrate the Paris Metal France Festival event.

TROUBLE - RISE TO ADDICTION
Paris - Le Nouveau Casino - 31.05.2007

Je sais bien qu’il ne faisait vraiment pas beau ce soir là puisqu’il pleuvait sur Paris, que de plus bon nombre d’entre vous ne pensez qu’à économiser pour les festivals d’été mais tout de même !!!! Trois cent personnes pour voir Trouble, ça fait peu au vu de la carrière du groupe et surtout pour leur première venue en France, en presque 30 ans de carrière ….. ça laisse perplexe….
I know the weather was not really beautiful that evening as that it was raining on Paris,  that a lot of you are just thinking to save money for the summer festivals but since !!! three hundreds persons only to see Trouble, it’s little regarding the career of the group and especially as it was their first coming in France in nearly 30 years of careers… it lets me perplex …

Les anglais de Rise To Addiction ouvraient pour Trouble, présentant principalement les titres de leur nouvel album « A New Shade Of Black To The Soul », un mélange de stoner, grunge et doom bien influencé par Black Sabbath et Trouble. Des musiciens bien en place et un frontman bien présent, sachant créer l’ambiance et communiquer avec le public, qui au final aura apprécier la prestation des anglais. Qui feront même plaisir à tous les fans de bon vieux doom en reprenant le « Children Of The Grave » de Black Sabbath de manière fort efficace.

The English from Rise To Addiction opened for Trouble, mainly presenting the titles from their new album « A New Shade Of Black To The Soul », a mix of stoner, grunge and doom well influenced by Black Sabbath and Trouble. Well at place musicians and a well present frontman, knowing out to create the ambience and communicate with the crowd, which at the end would have liked the performance of the English. Who will even please all the fans of good old doom by making the cover of “Children Of The Grave” from Black Sabbath in a very efficient manner.

Vint ensuite Trouble qui nous a donné une longue et excellente prestation avec un chanteur, Eric Wagner, qui semblait avoir fait honneur aux différents alcools servit par le Nouveau Casino…. Ce qui n’a entaché en rien sa prestation !!! Un frontman a l’aise sur scène, ne cachant pas sa joie d’être à Paris ce soir là, passant beaucoup de temps à serrer  les mains des fans présents, se retrouvant même dans la salle, parmi le public, lors d’une longue partie instrumentale des musiciens. Etant en même temps en promotion de leur nouvel album « Simple Mind Condition », Trouble a également interprété des morceaux des précédents albums dont  « R.I.P », « Assassin », « Come Touch The Sky », « At The End Of My Daze », ….. et est même allé de son petit hommage à Black Sabbath, en jammant sur « Electric Funeral »… Deux rappels pour clôturer cet excellent concert qui montre bien que le groupe américain était attendu en France !!! Espérons qu’il ne faudra pas attendre 28 autres années pour les revoir en France…. Parce que là on viendra en déambulateurs !!!!

Then came Trouble who has given us a long and excellent performance with a singer, Eric Wagner, who seemed to have to do justice to the different alcohols served by the Nouveau Casino… which did not have sully his performance !!! A frontman at ease on the stage, who did not hide that he was happy to be here in Paris that evening, taking much time to shake hands of the fans, even going in the room among the crowd while a long instrumental part of the musicians. Being at the same time here to promote their new album “Simple Mind Condition”, Trouble has also interpreted tracks from the other albums with such titles as “R.I.P”, “Assassin”, “Come Touch The Sky”, “At The End Of My Daze”, … and even has make its little tribute to Black Sabbath by jamming on “Electric Funeral”… Two “encore” to end this excellent gig which shows well that the group was really expected in France!!! Hope that we won’t have to wait for 28 more years to see them again in France…. Because there we will have to come with zimmers!!!

W.A.S.P. - FATAL SMILE - TRIOSPHERE

Paris - Elysée Montmartre - 06.05.2007

Après une bonne attente de plus d’une heure devant les portes de l’Elysée Montmartre (ce qui a permis à quelques énergumènes de bien s’imbiber…),  nous pouvons enfin entrer ….

After a having waited for more than one hour in the front of the Elysée Montmartre’s doors (which allowed to some eccentrics to drink more than they should….), we can at least enter …

Après un temps d’attente (encore !!!) Triosphere, groupe norvégien, investit la scène. Le groupe a surtout interprété les chansons de leur album « Onwards ». Avec à sa tête une bonne frontwoman  au chant et à la basse, Triosphere a fait une très bonne prestation, avec des musiciens de qualité, un set énergique entre le heavy et le thrash metal. Une prestation qui a su séduire  l’ensemble du public présent et qui laisse penser que le groupe a un bel avenir devant lui…

After a time to wait (again !!!) Triosphere, Norwegian group, comes on stage. The group has especially interpreted songs from their album “Onwards”. Leaded by a good frontwoman at vocals and at the bass guitar, Triosphere has made a very good performance, with quality musicians, an energetic set between heavy and thrash metal. A performance which has known how to seduce the present crowd and which lets think that the group has a brilliant future in front of him…

En provenance de Suède voici le groupe Fatal Smile, musicalement à mi-chemin entre punk, rock et glam. Des morceaux qui dès le début du set font mouche, une très bonne prestation scénique avec des musiciens bien en place. Un chanteur qui a su mettre de l’ambiance dans la salle et une paire de guitariste/bassiste qui au niveau look pourrait faire mourir de jalousie  Motley Crüe et compagnie…

Coming from Sweden, here comes the group Fatal Smile, musically speaking between punk, rock and glam. Titles that since the beginning of the set really do it, a very good stage performance with well at place musicians.  A singer who has known how to put ambience in the room and a pair of guitars/bass players who at the level of their look could have made jealous Motley Crüe and so one…

Ensuite autre attente, cette fois-ci de plus d’heure avant que les stars de la soirée, WASP, ne daignent enfin se montrer sur scène !!!! Heureusement que cette attente valait le coup sinon…. Nous avons eu le droit aux grands classiques du groupe (« On Yours Knees », « I Wanna Be Somebody », « Wild Child », « Blind In Texas », « Love Machine »…..) et très peu du dernier album « Dominator » alors que la tournée s’intitule « Dominator Tour » !!! Un public réceptif et qui entonne les refrains (voir les chansons) avec Blackie Lawless. Des musiciens plein d’énergie, hyper actifs sur scène notamment le bassiste qui vaut son pesant d’or !!! Blackie malgré le poids des années est toujours aussi charismatique et assure vocalement sur scène, à tel point que lorsqu’on écoute les albums studios et le live, aucune différence notoire !!! gros show à l’américaine avec lights démantiels  sans oublier « le voltigeur à tête de mort » sur lequel Blackie n’hésite pas à s’amuser comme un gamin…

Then another awaiting, this time for more than hour before the stars of the evening, WASP, deign to appear on stage !!! Hopefully that this waiting was worth for because…. We had the right to listen the great classics of the group  (« On Yours Knees », « I Wanna Be Somebody », « Wild Child », « Blind In Texas », « Love Machine »…..) and very little from their last album “Dominator” as the tour is called “Dominator Tour” !!! a well present public who starts singing the refrains (even the songs) with Blackie Lawless. Musicians full of energy, hyper actives on stage especially the bass guitar player who is worth to see !!! Blackie even the weight of the years is still as charismatic and ensures vocally speaking on stage, at the point that when listening the studio albums and in live, no difference to hear !!! great show in the American style with demential lights without forgetting “the horse with death’s head” on which Blackie to not hesitate to lay with like a child …

SAXON - MASTERPLAN

Un public venu nombreux attendait l’ouverture des portes de l’Elysée Montmartre. Public là évidemment pour Saxon puisqu’un certain nombre des personnes présentes avait dépassé  une bonne quarantaine… mais pas seulement…  Masterplan avait également ses fans au vu des tee-shirts portés….  dont certains venant  en famille de Belgique….

A numerous crowd was awaiting the opening of the Elysée Montmartre’s doors. Public who was there of course for Saxon as many persons present were more than forty…. But not only… Masterplan has also its own fans when looking around at the tee-shirts… as some were coming from Belgium in family…

 

 

Quand Masterplan débute son set la salle est pratiquement pleine, ce qui est plutôt rare ces temps-çi à l’Elysée Montmartre pour une première partie !!! Avec  un line up modifié, un nouveau chanteur Mike DiMeo à la place de Jorn Lande et un nouveau batteur, et non des moindres, Mike Terrana à la place d’Uli Kusch, Masterplan a su chauffer la salle avec brio. Prestation de grande qualité sur tout les plans : très bon son, éclairage impeccable, des musiciens bien en place et un chanteur qui a su nous rassurer sur l’avenir du groupe suite au départ de Jorn Lande. Avec également un batteur virtuose, voltigeur, qui s’amuse avec ses baguettes dès qu’il en a l’occasion et qui nous a soufflé avec un solo aussi impressionnant techniquement que visuellement !!! La set list proposait un large éventail du dernier album « MK II » et « d’Aéronautics » dont le désormais classique « Back For My Life »…qui fut repris en chœur par une grande majorité du public, satisfait de la prestation du groupe ce soir là.

When Masterplan begins its set, the room was nearly full, and it is rather rare todays at the Elysée Montmartre for an opening !!! With a modified line up, a new singer Mike DiMeo at the place of Jorne Lande and a new drummer, and not one of the last ones, Mike Terrana at the place of Uli Kusch, Masterplan has know how to warm up the place with brio.
A good quality prestance on all plans : very good sound, impeccable lightning, musicianswell in place  and a singer who has reinsured us on the futur of the group since Jorn Lande’s departure. With also a virtuoso drummer who has let us down with a technically impressive and visually solo !!! The set list proposed a huge panel of the last  album “MK II” and “Aeronautics” with the now classic one “Back For My Life”… which was sang by a great majority of the crowd, satisfied by the performance of the group that evening.

 

 

Pour ceux qui pensaient voir Saxon arriver sur scène avec déambulateurs et béquilles (j’avoue honteusement avoir eu ces quelques pensées…) … quelle déception de voir arriver sur scène un groupe, l’un des piliers du heavy metal anglais, au meilleur de sa forme pour un show de deux heures avec trois rappels, hyper carré, hyper maîtrisé, alternant chansons du dernier album « The Inner Sanctum » dont « State Of Grace » qui servit d’intro et nous mit immédiatement dans une ambiance euphorique, les anglais présents au premier rang en tête qui pour cause d’annulation de tournée anglaise (qui aura lieu en mai…) n’ont pas hésité à traverser le Channel …. On les comprend bien ! Biff Beeford s’adresse au public en partie en  français et s’avère être un des meilleurs showmen du metal, menant son groupe avec une très grande maîtrise. Faut dire aussi que les musiciens ne se font pas prier pour livrer toutes leurs forces dans la bataille, un bassiste impressionnant, également claviériste en de petites occasions, qui donne tout ce qu’il a sur scène et les deux guitaristes dont le légendaire Mister Quinn, avec son éternel bandana de bikers sur la tête, ne quittent pas les avant postes de la scène. Au vu de la prestation fournie et de l’énergie déployée ce soir là on a du mal à croire que cette date était la dernière de la première partie de la tournée… Durant ces deux heures Saxon a passé en revu ses 31 ans de carrière en allant rechercher des bons vieux classiques tels que « The Power And The Glory », « Dallas 1 PM », « Strong Arm Of The Law », « Crusader », « Princess Of The Night » (rien que l’intro vous met sur le cul !!!) et l’incontournable « Denim and Leather » joué pour tout les fans de la première heure venus en grand nombre et repris en chœur par la quasi-totalité du public. L’une des meilleures prestations que nous ayons pu voir jusqu’à présent … un show très intense, généreux et bourré d’émotions dont pas mal de jeunes groupes pourraient s’inspirer et en tirer quelques leçons…. For those who were expected to see Saxon coming on stage with deambulators and crutches (I have to admit having  those little bad thoughts…)…. What a deception to see coming on stage a group, one of the british heavy metal pillars, at the best of its form for a two hours show with three “encore, very well done, hyper controlled, alternating songs from the last album “The Inner Sanctum” like “State Of Grace” which served as an intro and puts us rigt in a crazy ambience, the English present in the first rank ahead, as the british tour had been annulate (which will be in may…) did not have hesitate to cross the Channel … We can understand them very well !!! Biff Beeford talks to the public sometimes into french and is one the best showmen of metal, leading his group with a great control. We’ll have to say that the musicians do not have to be asked to give all they have for this show, an impressive bass player, also keyboard player in some little occasions, who give all that he has on the stage and the two guitar players with the legendary Mister Quinn, with his usual bikers type bandana on his head, are very present on the front of the stage. When you see the performance done and the energy given that evening it’s hard to believe that this date was the last one of the first part of the tour… During two hours Saxon has gone through its 31 years of career by taken old good classics such as  « The Power And The Glory », « Dallas 1 PM », « Strong Arm Of The Law », « Crusader », « Princess Of The Night » (just the intro let you right on the bottom !!!) and the inforgettable  « Denim and Leather » played for the fans of the first hour that came in a great number and that was sang by mostly of the crowd. One of the best performance that we have seen from now… a very intense, generous, with a lot of feelings  show that some newly groups should be inspired with and take lesson of it… Grand Ma were right “it’s on the old jars that you are making the best jams !!!”
